We were approached by our client to explore the possibility of expanding their existing workshop in Wednesbury.
The existing workshop contained Staff accommodation, 38 Vehicle Ramps, 2 Full Vehicle Spray Booths and 1 Paint Mixing Room.
The proposed expansion would increase the workshop to 57 Vehicle Ramps, 5 Full Vehicle Spray Shops and 2 Paint Mixing Rooms.
The expansion also required the relocation of a 10m high jumbo stud wall splitting the workshop and showroom to create the space required for the expansion.
The jumbo stud wall contained much of the sub main distribution for the high bay showroom and workshop lighting. All of which needed to be relocated on to the new jumbo stud wall 5m away.
There was also the relocation of the staff canteen, managers office and the installation of a mezzanine floor for parts storage.
Orion TS were brought in to aid with the initial design of the project and then carry out the installation.
Through meticulous planning a project plan was agreed that meant the existing workshop would be subject to as little disruption as possible.
At no point during the project did our client see any downtime or loss of production.
Whilst this presented several health and safety challenges using barriers, signage and out of hours working the project was a huge success with no Health and Safety issues through the project duration.
On completion of the project the workshop floor space had been expanded by 50%, a new staff canteen had been added along with a mezzanine floor, new sub main distribution, LED lighting, 19 vehicle ramps, 3 full vehicle spray booths, 1 paint mixing room and managers offices.
We provided the following services to TCUK for the duration of the project:

- Sub Main Distribution
- Small Power
